Stipe was formed so that fans old and new can experience the magic of hearing these songs played live with care, conviction, and affection. Back by popular demand after taking the roof off ARC in a total sell-out show last time around!
Alchemy Live bring to life the classic era of Dire Straits from the early 80s, playing hits including Sultans of Swing, Money for Nothing, Tunnel of Love, Romeo and Juliet, Brothers In Arms and many more.
The band are united by a common love of the music of Mark Knopfler and recreate his trademark sound as accurately as possible with a painstaking attention to detail.
This lot are all about the music, no lookalike competitions here as they faithfully recreate the Dire Straits sound & feel, with each song a re-enactment of a specific performance by the original band.
As the name suggests, many of the song versions are taken from the multi-platinum selling double live album Alchemy Live, generally recognised as one of the best live albums ever recorded. Close your eyes and you’re right there at the Hammersmith Odeon back in 1983!
